The Quiet Migration of Belonging: Where the Past Returns Differently

Translucent sheets of printed poetry hang in a darkened gallery. Visitors are invited to 'take a light / read / the shadows' — and as coloured light passes through the sheets, the words ripple across the walls and ceiling: translated, fractured, breathing.

Title provisional — awaiting confirmation

It begins with a strange silence / a breath that hesitates between two moments / I wake, standing in the narrow space / between two worlds.
First poem panel
The installation is built from a sequence of short poem panels — 'where silence stops / meaning begins', 'light remembers what / the body forgets', 'belonging speaks / in borrowed accents'. Lit by hand, each suspended sheet throws its text across the room as a moving wave of light and shadow.

The poem also exists as a p5.js sketch: the paragraph holds together, then breaks apart into falling letters.

A final wall asks: What do you carry from the past into the present? Where does belonging begin for you? Visitors answered on sticky notes under the words 'leave your answer here'.
